Everything you need to check our work.

How to read a lot report, how to handle research peptides in the lab, and a calculator for stocks and dilutions.

Lot reports

Every lot gets its own report.

An independent, ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab tests each lot and issues one report for it. Reports go live with the catalog, one per lot, never shared between products.

See how to read one
  1. 01Purity by HPLCOne sharp main peak, with the purity printed.
  2. 02Identity by mass specObserved mass checked against expected mass.
  3. 03EndotoxinMeasured for every lot.
  4. 04Lot number and test dateMatched to the vial in your hand.
Lab tool

Solution calculator.

Work out the concentration of a stock solution, then how much of it you need for a dilution. For preparing laboratory stocks only. This is not a dosing tool.

Stock solution

What's in the vial and how much solvent you add.

Dilution

The working solution you want to make from the stock.

Stock concentration

Uses C = m / V and C₁V₁ = C₂V₂. Check every number against your own protocol.

Handling

Good habits at the bench.

01

Store as labeled.

Unopened vials: 2 to 8 °C, away from light, as printed on every PrecisionPep label.

02

Warm before opening.

Let a cold vial reach room temperature before you open it, so moisture doesn't condense on the powder.

03

Pick the right solvent.

Choose a solvent that suits your assay and the peptide's solubility. Add it slowly down the side of the vial.

04

Swirl, don't shake.

Swirl gently until the powder dissolves. Shaking can foam the solution and damage some peptides.

05

Aliquot once.

Split a fresh solution into single-use aliquots so the stock isn't opened again and again.

06

Log the lot.

Write the lot number in your notebook with every experiment. It ties your data to its report.

Glossary

The words on a report, in plain English.

HPLC
High-performance liquid chromatography. It separates a sample into its parts. A pure peptide shows one sharp main peak.
Mass spec
Mass spectrometry weighs the molecules in a sample. When the observed mass matches the expected mass, the identity is confirmed.
ISO/IEC 17025
The international standard for testing labs. An accredited lab has had its methods, equipment, and staff checked by an outside accreditation body.
Endotoxin
Fragments of bacterial cell walls that can interfere with cell and tissue research. Reported in EU per mg.
Lot
One production batch. Every vial from the same batch carries the same lot number.
COA
Certificate of analysis. The lab's report for one lot.
Lyophilized
Freeze-dried. The peptide ships as a dry cake that stays stable until it's dissolved.
